This is an online webinar held by Eurocontrol recently about Air Cargo with Host Philip Hughes and speakers Hugh Flynn, Erik Lindbergh and Charles Tavner.
A key topic presented by Charles Tavner (FlylogiX) is the integration of UCA and manned cargo aircraft. Their vision is to complement manned transportation of large volumes and regular goods with an UCA network for smaller volumes and high-value goods. Identified barriers are the scale of the needed infrastructure, safe airspace access, and achieving sufficient autonomy to cover the logistics cost of operations. The first airport-to-airport delivery has already taken place in the UK. Both examples show that UCA are seeing use cases, and it is up to us to help make them profitable for logistics.
