DRONAMICS obtains first operational licence as drone cargo airline

Granted by Transport Malta Civil Aviation Directorate (TM-CAD), the licence allows operations in accordance with European Regulation (EU)

The Light UAS Operator Certificate (LUC) is the highest authorisation currently achievable under European drone operations and the first one issued in the EU for middle-mile cargo operations

It allows DRONAMICS to self-authorise flight operations across EU countries.

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency published the world’s first guidance for the design of vertiports

The ground infrastructure needed for the safe operation of Urban Air Mobility services such as air taxis in locations across Europe, including in urban areas.

The Prototype Technical Design Specifications for Vertiports offers guidance to urban planners and local decision-makers as well as industry to enable the safe design of vertiports that will serve these new types of vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft, which are already at an advanced stage of development.

Malta will be the European base of operations for DRONAMICS

DRONAMICS today unveiled the first base of operations in Europe for its unmanned drone logistics service. After a detailed selection process with multiple national civil aviation authorities and leading customers in Europe, the DRONAMICS team has selected Malta as its first European operation base to provide same-day delivery service with the Black Swan drone in 2022.

Ireland and Skyports flying ahead of the EU with leading-edge regulatory certification

Skyports receives first-in-EU Light UAS Operator Certificate (LUC) to allow for BVLOS from the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA), enabling self-authorisation of UAS drone flights.

Skyports, the world-leading operator of cargo drone deliveries and advanced air mobility (AAM) infrastructure, has obtained a Light UAS Operator Certificate from the Irish Aviation Authority, permitting the self-authorisation of Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) drone flights. This is the first such certificate issued by an EU regulator.
