This flight was part of a logistic demonstration in collaboration with Leonardo and Poste Italiane, the Italian postal service provider.
The eVTOL cargo drone FB3 with 100kg payload capability has been in commercial operation since 2020, when FlyingBasket received the first operational authorization to perform complex logistic missions in sparsely populated areas. Having accumulated ample experience as a drone operator across several European countries, FlyingBasket was distinctively the reliable choice for this pilot project.

Skyports, an enabler of cargo drone deliveries and advanced air mobility (AAM) infrastructure, and Kencoa Aerospace, a Korea-based global aerospace solution supplier and manufacturer, have announced a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to implement cargo drone deliveries to and on South Korea’s Jeju Island.

Boeing unveiled a new unmanned electric vertical-takeoff-and-landing (Boeing eVTOL) cargo air vehicle (CAV) prototype that will be used to test and evolve Boeing’s autonomy technology for future aerospace vehicles. It is designed to transport a payload up to 500 pounds for possible future cargo and logistics applications.
